Feedback: developer replies can now include images, and any image in the thread can be tapped to view full size
The cloud backup section now describes your actual state: no more misleading note when you've never backed up, and it points you to "Export a full backup" instead (available without Pro)
Cloud backups are now stored compressed, raising the number of restaurants a backup can hold significantly
Bug Fixes
Fixed share import on Android picking up the *previous* share's content; the same root cause also made some shares arrive with no response at all, which is fixed too
Fixed a subscription that had been purchased but expired not being recognized correctly when switching platforms
Fixed extra blank space above feedback messages that contain only an image and no text
The Share Wall: Publish a whole list, a single restaurant, or a theme to the share wall, and browse what others post — import anything you like straight into your own list, no retyping. Filter by region, country, language, cuisine style, or post type, and switch between Latest / Most liked / Most imported. Like posts, save them for later, and follow the creators you enjoy (you'll get a push notification when they post). You post under a public display name that's separate from your account, with reporting, blocking, and a shareable post page
Japanese interface: The app, the privacy policy, and the terms of use are now available in Japanese; list names, tier names, and tags follow your language too
Import restaurants from images: Map screenshots or photos with a shop name can be parsed into a restaurant list — up to 3 images at a time. Pick images from the Import screen, or share images into Whateatver from another app (both the iOS share sheet and the action row)
List filters: The home screen, tier details, and map view now share one set of filters (tag / city / distance / open now), with a live count reflected in the picker and on the map. You can also enter an address manually to look up coordinates
"Needs tidying up" on the home screen: After a share import or a Google Maps list import, the imported restaurants are listed on your home screen with a note on what's still missing (tags or opening hours). Fill them in whenever you have time and tap Done to clear them
Resume an unfinished import from the home screen: If you leave or get interrupted midway through an import, you can pick up where you left off — no need to parse it again
"Until sold out" opening hours: For street stalls and other places without a fixed closing time, tick "Until sold out" when editing opening hours; time slots, details, and the open status all show it that way
Feedback is now two-way: Developer replies arrive as a push notification, and a new "My feedback" page lets you read replies, follow up with more screenshots, and file an appeal. This notification toggle is independent of meal reminders
Cross-platform subscription: Once you sign in with Google, a Whateatver Pro subscription bought on iOS also works on Android (and vice versa) — no need to buy it again when you switch platforms
Create and edit tier templates directly: The template manager is no longer limited to saving from an existing list — you can create a new template and edit its tier names, colors, and order right there
"Relocate all restaurants" in map view: When restaurants come back without coordinates after a cloud restore or a device change, you can fetch them all at once instead of opening each place on the map
Tablet & multi-window layouts: Rotation, Split View, and Slide Over on iPad all get proper layouts, content is width-capped and centered, and the iPadOS 26 system window controls no longer overlap the app
Account avatar in Settings: Once you've set up your community profile, your avatar shows in the account section — tap it to change it
Over-the-air updates: Smaller fixes can now be delivered straight to the app without waiting for store review (major updates with new features still require an app update)
Improvements
Tap targets and press feedback polished app-wide: small buttons now have comfortably sized touch areas, and press feedback is consistent everywhere
Tooltips are now rendered at the screen level, so they're never clipped or covered by cards and dialogs
Map view now uses the home screen's filters, replacing the map's own separate tag filter — no more two sets of conditions
Removed the item cap on Google Maps list imports (previously 499), with performance improvements for large imports
Threads share import now also resolves short links, improving the success rate
City chips in the home filter now follow your interface language
Text on tier colors now picks its color from the background automatically, so light tiers stay readable
"Follow the developer" in Settings now uses a dynamic redirect, so social links can change without an app update
Fixed Japanese text overflowing in Stats and elsewhere; selected states now use the theme accent consistently
Feedback images are now content-moderated, and location and other metadata is stripped before upload
Bug Fixes
Fixed the map view crashing the whole screen when a list contains restaurants in different hemispheres (e.g. Taiwan and the US)
Fixed address auto-fill occasionally failing silently when adding a restaurant
Fixed a possible white screen on the very first launch after a fresh install
Fixed the screen freezing after moving or copying a restaurant
Fixed manual cloud backup falsely reporting failure when the app goes to the background, and prevented manual and automatic backups from running at once
Fixed collaborative edits silently overwriting a partner's changes — only the fields you actually changed are sent now
Fixed getting an empty list when two devices that restored the same backup collaborate with each other
Fixed the tier detail screen not applying other members' changes in real time during collaboration
Fixed content inside quotes being lost on CSV import, and opening hours being dropped when restoring a backup
Fixed the iOS edge-swipe gesture bypassing the "unsaved changes" prompt
Fixed some panels being completely invisible inside dialogs (the picker's candidate list, the tier template name field)
Fixed a stale animation callback re-running a share import and causing duplicate entries
Fixed a timer that kept running after leaving Settings while long-pressing a stepper button
Fixed like status being out of sync between the share wall feed and post details
Export a list to Google Maps: Export an entire list to Google My Maps format — scan the QR code on your computer to download the file, then import it into Google My Maps to recreate your food list on a map (each tier becomes its own layer)
More share-import sources: Added support for importing restaurants shared from Google My Maps (custom maps) and reservation platforms (e.g. inline)
Restaurants-only toggle: Turn on "Import restaurants only" during share import to automatically filter out non-dining places like attractions and lodging (Settings → Share Import)
Attach screenshots to feedback: You can now attach up to 3 screenshots when reporting an issue, helping us understand your situation faster
Custom tier templates: Save a list's tier setup (names, colors, order) as a template and apply it when creating new lists. Templates can be renamed, reordered, and deleted on a management page, and are included in backup and cloud sync
Custom price-tier names in Stats: Rename the four price tiers (default Budget / Daily / Weekend / Luxury — the $ symbols stay fixed); your names apply everywhere in the app
Improvements
Moving restaurants now works within the same list: in addition to moving across lists, you can now move a restaurant directly to another tier within the same list
Import preview now shows the region ("Country · City") below each restaurant name to help you confirm the location
Tag filtering now sorts by frequency, putting your most-used tags first; the picker and map also show a live count of restaurants matching your current filters
The restaurant list now shows tags
Shares and backups now carry the opening hours you've set: QR sharing, import/export, and collaboration sync all include a restaurant's opening hours
Reorganized the Settings page for clearer, easier-to-find sections
Added a share-import tutorial to onboarding, using a mock post to demonstrate importing from social platforms
Friendlier, cuter anonymous identities during collaboration — no more "you're a dog" or "you're a pig"
New import entry in the iOS share sheet: when sharing from another app, you can now import into Whateatver directly from the action row
Smarter "Update / Complete" for official lists: when updating an imported official list, you can preview which restaurants will be updated, added, or restored (expand to see the list). It only adds new places and refreshes official info (including opening hours) — your own arrangements, edits, and deletions stay untouched. Collaborative lists update safely too, without wiping or overwriting other members' changes
List renames now sync in collaboration: when the owner renames a list, the change syncs to all collaborators in real time and shows up in the edit history. The list name is managed by the owner; collaborators can rename it after leaving the collaboration
More social platforms for share import: added support for importing restaurants shared from Threads posts and profile bios
Recently used tags while typing: when adding or editing a restaurant, the tag field now suggests your recently used tags — tap one to fill it in
Same restaurant in multiple tiers: within a single list you can now add the same restaurant to different tiers (with a confirmation), handy for comparing different dishes or occasions at the same place
Added a "How to rename a tier" tip card to onboarding
Various UI polish: the distance radius ring is clearer on dark maps, plus color tweaks for the Aurora light theme
Bug Fixes
Fixed some dialogs (reminder settings, restaurant search) not applying the frosted-glass background under glass themes
Fixed opening hours not being carried over when importing a list
Fixed the Google sign-in button text overflowing on small screens
Fixed tier names containing emoji sometimes rendering as the wrong glyph when wrapped or truncated on the home screen (e.g. a bride emoji showing as a plain person)
Fixed the multi-batch import preview selector occasionally not scrolling or not switching between batches
Fixed some dialogs occasionally flashing when closing on Android
Collaborative lists: Create a shared list and invite friends via QR code or invite link to edit together. Everyone's adds, ratings, and ordering sync in real time, with a live count of who's online. Collaborators appear under cute anonymous animal identities to protect privacy, and the owner can reset the invite link or disband the collaboration anytime (requires Whateatver Pro)
Cloud backup & sign-in: Sign in with Apple or Google to back up all your lists to the cloud — easily restore them on a new phone or after reinstalling. Supports manual backup and automatic backup when the app goes to the background, and shows the backup time and a per-list summary before you restore (requires Whateatver Pro)
Manual opening hours: When adding or editing a restaurant, you can enter opening hours for all seven days (multiple time slots and closed days supported). The app shows a live "Open / On break / Closed / Closed today" status on restaurant cards, details, the map, and picker results based on the current time
More share-import platforms: Added support for importing restaurants shared from Google Maps lists, X (Twitter), Bluesky, Tabelog, and Naver
Starter tier templates: Choose a starting template when creating a new list — the classic S/A/B/C/D/E, or a "To-try / Conquered" check-in style
Improvements
The onboarding flow is now 5 pages, fully covering rating, the random picker, share import, cloud backup, and collaboration
Reorganized the subscription page, putting headline features like cloud backup and collaboration first, with clearer, non-repetitive copy
Home announcements now move to the bottom when there's nothing unread, freeing up the main view
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where switching lists could occasionally show a false "this tier has been deleted" message
Fixed some social platforms (e.g. Naver) occasionally failing to capture the restaurant name during share import
Home announcements: important updates and news appear right on the home screen — from now on you'll get the developer's latest notices in real time without updating the app (tap to expand; read items fade automatically)
Improvements
More reliable share import: an added fallback for restaurant-name parsing greatly reduces failures in certain regions or network conditions
Clearer message when parsing fails, with a way to reach us (tap the email to contact us directly)
Added a Terms of Use (EULA) link on the Settings page

Fixed several issues with the Whateatver Pro subscription
Fixed share import occasionally showing "daily limit reached" by mistake after upgrading to Pro
